Nightfall on Lac Blanc

Description

I was in awe as I first looked over the edge of Lac Blanc. I knew I wanted to capture the beauty of this magnificent mountain lake from the right perspective. After a freezing night in my bivy, I woke up early and clad myself in snow gear before trudging through thick snow, sometimes waist deep, to this location. There was magical light bouncing off the snow as I framed the mountain lake with the distant peaks. The morning had a presence about it – I was the only person there which made me realize once again how powerful mother nature really is, Just standing there as a spectator in something so grand, I pressed the shutter and it just felt right.
